Baby Sleep Support in Italy, in English
Yes — attachment-based baby and toddler sleep consulting is available in English for expat families living anywhere in Italy, entirely online. The process includes a free discovery call, a detailed questionnaire, an in-depth video session, and a written, personalized plan — with no method that involves letting your baby cry it out alone. Sessions run on Italian time, so scheduling is simple wherever you are in the country.
You’re raising a baby in Italy, and you don’t speak Italian — or not fluently enough to navigate 3am decisions.
Maybe you moved here for work. Maybe you married into an Italian family. Maybe you’ve been here for years and Italian is your third language, not your first. However you got here, you’re now trying to figure out your baby’s sleep in a country where the advice, the culture, and often your own support network all speak a different language than the one you think in.
And you’ve probably already wondered: does anyone who actually understands baby sleep — properly, not just “let them cry it out” — work in English here?
Yes. And it works exactly as well online as it would in person.
Why Being an Expat Parent in Italy Is Its Own Kind of Hard
It’s not just the language barrier, although that’s real — trying to fully absorb your pediatrician’s advice in your second language at 2am, exhausted, is genuinely difficult.
Your support network may be thousands of miles away. No grandparent popping round for an afternoon. No childhood friend to text at 4am who just gets it. Even if you’ve built a life here, the people who knew you before you were a parent often aren’t in the same time zone.
Italian baby culture can be surprisingly opinionated — and different from what you’re used to. Well-meaning nonnas, neighbors, and even some professionals often have very strong, very traditional views on how a baby should sleep, eat, and be dressed — and they’re not shy about sharing them. If your instinct doesn’t match what everyone around you is insisting on, it can feel isolating rather than supported.
English-language resources are often written for a different context. Sleep advice written for the US or UK doesn’t always account for what your actual daily life looks like here — different childcare norms, different pediatric guidance, different rhythms.
What you need isn’t more generic advice. It’s someone who understands infant sleep deeply, works entirely in English, and respects the bond you’re building with your child — regardless of what anyone around you is doing differently.
How It Works
1. Book a free discovery call. We talk about your situation, your baby, what you’re going through. No pressure, no obligation — I just want to understand if I can genuinely help. And if we feel it is necessary and we are a good fit then the next steps happen:
2. Fill out a detailed questionnaire. Routines, wake-ups, feeding, your baby’s temperament, your family’s rhythms. The more I understand your story, the more tailored the plan.
3. We meet for an in-depth video call. A full session — in English — where we go through everything together and build a strategy specific to your family.
4. You receive your written plan. A clear, practical, gentle document with strategies designed specifically for you and your baby. No generic templates. No methods that involve crying it out.
5. I support you through it. You’re not alone — I’m available for questions, adjustments, and the hard moments. Changing sleep habits isn’t a single night. It’s a process.
An Approach That Respects the Bond
My method is attachment-based. I never use techniques that involve leaving a baby to cry alone — real, lasting change doesn’t come from methods that ignore what your child actually needs.
My work draws on Gordon Neufeld’s attachment theory, Daniel Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson’s work on interpersonal neurobiology, and the anthropological sleep research of Helen Ball and James McKenna.
The result: strategies that actually work, that last, and that never ask you to choose between sleep and your instincts as a parent — even when everyone around you seems to be doing it differently.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you actually speak fluent English, or is this translated marketing?
The entire process — the discovery call, the questionnaire, the strategy session, your written plan, and ongoing support — is conducted fully in English by me directly. Psst.. I am an expat American living in Italy since 2006. For more about me and my studies: Chi Sono
How much does it cost?
Packages range from €387 (Targeted Package) to €647 (Complete Package). Both include a personalized written plan and direct support during implementation. A free 15-20 minute discovery call is available first, with no obligation.
Does this work for any city in Italy, or just Rome and Milan?
Anywhere in Italy — the entire process is online, so location doesn’t matter. What matters is a stable internet connection for the video call.
Do you use any cry-it-out methods?
No, never. My approach is based on attachment theory and respects your baby’s need for closeness and emotional security — no controlled crying, no Ferber method, no leaving your baby to “self-soothe” alone. Check out my methods: Holistic Sleep Coaching
How long does the process take, and when will I see changes?
Programs run 4 to 8+ weeks depending on the package. Many families start noticing changes within the first 2-3 weeks of applying the plan.
I don’t speak much Italian — will that be a problem for anything in the process?
Not at all. Everything — from our first conversation to your final written plan — happens entirely in English.
